"Out, damned spot! out, I say!"
- William Shakespeare (Quote from MacBeth, Act V, Scene I)
Confession...I stink at doing laundry. It isn't that I can't sort/load/fold like a champion...creating order is my specialty. My piles are razor straight and packed for duty. However, like Lady MacBeth, it is those stubborn spots and stains I cannot conquer. Literally after trying every well-marketed product, I just give up. Over time my kids' white shirts are a lovely grey with many marks of a well enjoyed meal or day in the yard. My mother was a guru at this...mixing secret potions that would remove everything. Immaculate whites and bright pastels. So what's the secret? Share your ideas...I'd love to know.

Solid stain sticks work well...and no more white shirts for the kids!
My favorite, no-fail remedy is to first rub Shout advanced scrub gel into a stain or color bleed. Then, and this is the kicker, rub Fels-Naptha soap over that. It's magic!
I read once that vinegar and/or lemon soaks work on dingy whites?? Google it.
Yes! I remember my mom had a bar of Fels-Naptha (think I probably had a taste of it once...LOL) that she used for laundry! Thanks for the idea.
