welcome to abundance!

Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.
-Edith Sitwell, British poet & critic

This past week, we were surrounded by abundance...over 4 feet of snow in a land that was not completely prepared.  We were snowed in most days...no school...long mornings in pjs enjoying fresh homemade pancakes, lots of hot chocolate, and many giggles.   Despite the complete overhaul of schedules and the constant stream of wet clothing and boots...we found some majesty in this gift of nature...
My daughter thought that perhaps God was in our garden the way the trees were bowing...
The snow outlined things we might have missed otherwise...like this curvy grate.
Check out our "marshmallow tree."
Despite the mounds, there is always a sunrise...
And the promise that spring is on the way!
