the colors are in

I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for.
Georgia O'Keeffe, American Painter, 1887-1986

Colors have always fascinated me...how different lighting can change the way it looks, the way it brings out the depth in someone's eyes, the limitless options, and the way nature plays with color...you can literally drink them in!  This week a friend sent me a bouquet of flowers, and the bright fushia blooms were just magnificient!
Pantone released their Fall Color Report 2010 at New York's Fashion Week (yes, I know spring has just begun and we are looking forward!).  They are lush, deeply pigmented colors...listen to this list, it is like poetry:
Endive
Golden Glow
Living Coral
Lipstick Red
Purple Orchid
Chocolate Truffle
Lagoon
Woodbine
Oyster Gray
Rose Dust
The perfect combination of seduction and earthy-ness.  So how would I use these in my home?  Largely as accents...little splashes of color to wake up my home whether it be a blanket, a throw pillow or vase.  You can do the same with your fashion...have a basic backdrop paired with a daring necklace or shoe. Colors as these allow us to recreate our space with little effort!  Check them out by clicking here for your free color report, and keep your eyes open for opportunities to bring the joy of color into your space.  Let me know what you think of these colors and how you will use them in your space.
