So together with her mom, she took it home and started to sand off the old finish. She made a new finish with Benjamin Moore's Bittersweet Chocolate 2114-10, and before you could say "Reeses Pieces," this little girl opened the door of the wardrobe and was transported to the Land of Narnia...one of her favorite places....and she lived happily ever after knowing that she rescued a piece of magic!
My daughter was enamored by this old wardrobe that was getting the boot from one of my neighbor's collections. She thought it would be perfect for her room, and being a huge fan of C.S. Lewis's book The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, she was sure it was a portal to Narnia. We refinished it and lugged it upstairs so the fun could begin! The craftsmanship in this piece is amazing...cedar lined and totally solid with this great carving on top.
We even found some vintage hardware at Simply Home that completed the look. Magical indeed!

This was simply a tricky shoot...a dark rainy day...I will upload a better shot of the finished wardrobe when the sun returns!
